Truck Driving Jobs Just Got Easier

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

C.R. England Trucking Company has just announced that they released the “TripPak InCab Scanning” for their drivers.  This means that CR England truck drivers can now scan paperwork without getting out of their cab.  All a truck driver needs is an internet access and a laptop.  That’s it!  Then the driver buys the scanner from $140.00 to $150.00, depending on where they purchase it.

Truck drivers will have the opportunity to see one in person when the TripPak InCab Scanning is featured at the American Truck Show (ATA) this month and can be purchased right their at the booth for $145.00.

For several months, a handful of drivers for C.R. England Trucking Company have been testing this new scanning process and it has brought great reviews.  It’s easy to set up, use, and inexpensive.  After being tested and proven it is now ready for the whole company to use.

This is really great because drivers don’t have to stand in a line at a truck stop to use their scanner or fax machine.  They don’t have to look up truck stops that might have scanning capabilities for them to send in the paperwork.  They do get to stay in their cab and scan.  They also get the gratification of not having to print out paperwork to send back to the office, and helping the cause to become greener.

This is just another step in technology that is saving drivers time and money and making truck driving jobs a little easier.  At CR England Trucking Company, they care about their drivers.  Chalk one up for CR England making life easier for their drivers.

Hazmat Endorsement Course for Truck Drivers

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Veteran truck drivers now have the opportunity for classroom lessons by CR England for HAZMAT endorsement.  This is a great opportunity for drivers who may need to use the endorsement in the future.  If you do not have to have the HAZMAT endorsement for your current job, it might be a good idea to take this class for future loads. You never know when you might need a HAZMAT endorsement in your career. Nothing shouts “do it now” like “get in for free”.

Wonder if you are ready to just walk in and take the exam? Few people can pass the exam without a class or some hours studying. We have put together a few cdl jobs related practice questions for a truck driver to have a sense of what is on the HAZMAT exam.   Take a look and see how well you know the answers before taking your state exam. All answers have straightforward solutions:

  1. A vehicle placarded for hazardous materials will have placards on how many sides?
  2. Who is responsible for finding out what permits or special routes you will need to haul hazardous materials?
  3. While doing your normal truck job duties you encounter a traffic accident where one of the vehicles involved was hauling explosives, should you pull them apart?
  4. When you need to stop for railroad tracks, how many feet before the tracks should you stop?
  5. Should you stop before railroad tracks if you are hauling 110 gallons of Chlorine?

How did you do?  We hope these questions helped you in understanding if you would pass the state HAZMAT endorsement test.  The CR England HAZMAT endorsement training is voluntary, but if you are looking for a truck-driving job, it is highly recommended to help you be more prepared for any Trucking Company.  Visit  http://www.CREngland.com to learn more about this course and other courses available to CRE drivers.
