Like a bad nightmare, Japan and her people are living an unrealistic life right now. One man, age 65, has his own, personal story. There was an article in nbc29.com called “Scenes of devastation at heart of Japan disaster” by Jay Alabaster that told this sad story.
In a little trucking company, the 65-year old owner named Yoshio Miura, sat in his office on the afternoon of the big quake. He quickly got under the table. Above that table were cabinets made out of metal, which fell on top of the table he was under. His office furniture and supplies were scattered everywhere. Yoshio Miura expressed himself about how the building shook side to side and lifted a shed off its foundation outside his office. After the earthquake came the tsunami. Coming inland 6 miles, it went through his office. Luckily, the 65-year old trucking company owner had warning and was safe from the water.
Yoshio and other trucking company owners are in for an uphill battle for the next few months. We hope their struggles will turn into success stories as they pick up the pieces and start over. We here in the United States feel for those caught up in this tragedy.
At CR England, the corporate office is accepting donations from their employees to send to these victims. The CR England will match the donations, which will double the help toward our neighbors across the sea. As a very giving company, they are broken hearted as the rest of us and want to help in rebuilding their lives.
