One man, age 65, has his own, personal story. There was an article in nbc29.com called “Scenes of devastation at heart of Japan disaster” by Jay Alabaster that told this sad story.

In a little trucking company, the 65-year old owner named Yoshio Miura, sat in his office on the afternoon of the big quake. He quickly got under the table. Above that table were cabinets made out of metal, which fell on top of the table he was under. His office furniture and supplies were scattered everywhere. Yoshio Miura expressed himself about how the building shook side to side and lifted a shed off its foundation outside his office. After the earthquake came the tsunami. Coming inland 6 miles, it went through his office. Luckily, the 65-year old trucking company owner had warning and was safe from the water.

Yoshio and other trucking company owners are in for an uphill battle for the next few months. We hope their struggles will turn into success stories as they pick up the pieces and start over. We here in the United States feel for those caught up in this tragedy.

At CR England, the corporate office is accepting donations from their employees to send to these victims. The CR England will match the donations, which will double the help toward our neighbors across the sea. As a very giving company, they are broken hearted as the rest of us and want to help in rebuilding their lives.

About CR England:

Her is just another reason why a driver wants to work at CR England. C.R. England has now installed the TeleNav Track into 80 AT&T BlackBerry smart phones. Drivers in their dedicated routes are using this new software. This allows the Dedicated Fleets to have tracked the client’s products quicker than before and take the pressure off the driver because the information is more accurate. In fact, the installation of the TeleNav Track™ actually boosted the moral of the drivers due to less complications and better customer satisfaction.

Before the TeleNav Track™ was installed into the phones, information about the truck was delayed and sometimes incorrect. C.R. England didn’t have a set driving regulation-tracking system. Now, CR England can give their clients accurate and complete information about their product as it is being transported from one location to the next.

According to the article, “C.R. England Drives Home New Contracts and Strengthens Customer Service With TeleNav Track™” on productivityapps.itbusinessnet.com, C.R. England has actually increased their client satisfaction all the way up to ninety-nine percent and has brought additional revenue streams just because of the installation of the TeleNav Track ™ right into the smart phones.

Other great aspects to the TeleNav Track™ that the C.R. England, Dedicated drivers see consist of better communications between the client and C.R. England as well as smoother technology that is evolving into better technology down the road.

CR England

CR England has been in business for over 90 years without any driver layoffs. Known in the Transportation Industry as one of high integrity and regard for their drivers, they are well respected. With dedicated runs across the country, C.R.

CR England has recently signed a five-year contract with Alanco Technologies, Inc.’s subsidiary, StarTrak Systems. This gives CR England the advantage of a better monitoring system in the refrigerated trailers. Using updated telematics functioning that is integrated into the there system, with the StarTrak’s Reefer Trak® the trucking company now has an improved system for quality of the customer’s goods.

Truckinginfo.com reported on Oct. 11, 2010, that CSX leaders are celebrating the opening of the Liberty Corridor Freightways. This new railway lets intermodal freight move from New York’s port and New Jersey into more inland locations. They believe that the highways will have fewer trucks and provide less congestion out on the roads.

These intermodal trailers will be stacked on top of each other, being called double-stacked. CR England introduced TempStacks earlier this year. They are 53-feet long and are temperature-controlled. To quote Zach England, vice president of Intermodal, “moving containers via rail is more cost effective for our customers, increases their shipping capacity, expedite delivery and reduces their carbon footprint. In an environment when truckload capacity is diminished, rail container transport can significantly impact that capacity crunch. We are please to take this step and have plans for significant growth in the future.”

According to C.R. England, C.R. England, Incorporated will have the biggest intermodal fleet in the freight industry, which allows double-stacked refrigerated containers onto the flatcars of the railroad. This is a bigger push towards going green and becoming more cost productive.

This corridor on the East coast is not the first intermodal corridor. CR England already utilizes their intermodal containers on the west coast in Los Angeles to Chicago. But the Liberty Corridor is unique in that they had to raise two tunnels to make it work. One in particular was used in Abraham Lincoln’s presidency era. They had to raise the ceiling of this tunnel in which is 4,000 long, complete rock. Not only was it a difficult density, it also lies underneath Jersey City, New Jersey.

The compnay as always gotten a lot positive publicity. I thought I would go through and find out a few reasons why this m,ight be the case.

First of all, CR England is the largest refrigerated trucking company in the nation. They have been around for 90 years and specialize in freight that is temperature sensitive, such as chemicals, meat, produce, dairy products, and beverages. With that said, here is a top 10 lists as to why CR England is a better company to work for:

Utah is the crossroads of the west when it comes to refrigerated freight. We are not saying this just because CR England is headquartered in Utah but because Utah highways see more trucks than any other state in the country. In fact the percentage of trucks on the road in Utah is almost twice the national average.

Utah sees a lot of traffic because of the geography in the west. The canyons of the Colorado River and the Sierra Nevada Mountains push the California traffic towards Salt Lake City. This puts a lot of trucks on I-15 and on I-80.

With all the truck traffic on Utah’s highways the state of Utah and the Utah Department of Transportation have set up a specific planning division to see that the highways in Utah are trucking industry friendly. For information about the UDOT planning division click here.

Utah is at the crossroads of the west. When it comes to refrigerated freight coming from the west coast, all roads head through the state. To increase the efficiency at which freight flows across the state and into other parts of the country the planning division makes additional plans for climbing lanes and passing lanes. We all know every once in a while we are truly grateful when we come across that passing lane.

If you’re a truck driver that is not familiar with highways in Utah, someday you maybe as freight through the state of Utah will increase into 2035. For truck drivers considering a trucking job, check out what CR England has to offer on our website http://www.CREngland.com.
